Founded in southeast Iowa by Kaylin Oetken and Amber Schwartz, The Curated Host was created to serve hosts who love meaningful moments but don’t want the stress that comes with planning them.
From intimate celebrations to large weddings, we help bring events together with beautiful decor, calm coordination, and a deep appreciation for gathering people well. We believe hosting is more than a checklist—it’s creating space for connection. Whether it’s a backyard party, bridal shower, or wedding day, our goal is to make your event feel effortless, personal, and true to you.

With a passion for décor, styling, and intentional design, I love transforming spaces into warm, inviting environments that feel both elevated and personal. Décor sets the tone for an entire event and finding joy in the details makes any gathering feel special. I am inspired by timeless details, and pieces that feel both beautiful and usable. At home you will find me decorating for every holiday, playing music, and thrifting for those one of a kind finds.

Focusing on coordination, logistics, and flow, I love managing timelines, working closely with vendors, and making sure every moving piece comes together seamlessly so our clients can truly enjoy their day. For me, in addition to curating a beautiful space, great hosting is about how smoothly it runs and how cared for people feel throughout the process. My goal is for every celebration to feel effortless, organized, and stress-free from start to finish. When I’m not coordinating events, I enjoy spending time with my family, finding inspiration in everyday hospitality, and dreaming up thoughtful ways to gather people with intention.
